Jared Davis (b. 1988) is a writer and curator based in London with an interest in independent music, sound culture and its politics.

Jared has contributed art and music related articles to publications including AQNB, DIS Magazine, Public Seminar (The New School, New York), 3hD Festival (Berlin, online programme), Art Monthly Australia and produced catalogue essays for the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art among others.

Notable curatorial projects of Jared’s include Hyperobjectivity (2020) featuring a perfomance by Ewa Awe for 3hd Festival; Paranormal Storytime (2020) presented by AQNB and featuring a talk by writer Elvia Wilk, a live performance by producer and DJ Swan Meat, as well as a screening of video works by artists Tianzhuo Chen and Wang Newone; a public audio-visual performance in Stockholm by Melbourne artist Emile Zile in partnership with Färgfabriken and Bus Projects (SOUTH/SÖDER, 2012); an installation by sound artist Philip Samartzis at the Iziko South African National Gallery in Cape Town (Echoes, 2010); and a public sound art installation by South African artist James Webb as part of the 2009 Melbourne International Arts Festival (Echoes, 2009).

He is Associate Editor of AQNB and co-host of the editorial platform’s Artist Statement podcast. He completed his PhD (Art History & Theory) at Monash University, Melbourne.
